No nonsense education

MY approach to mentoring WAS Once described as “a good kick up the arse with a fluffy slipper”

I’ve learned a lot over the last 12 years and 300+ weddings - although never more so than during the last three.  I am proud to still have a highly successful business after a global pandemic with absolutely NO financial support from the government (don’t get me started).

And extremely proud of the trail of happy couples all around the globe.

I want to share that experience and knowledge with you. To help you create and shape a business that you love and help you avoid the many mistakes I made along the way.

As far as my additional ‘credentials’ go, I’ve been a speaker at some of the top workshops here in the UK alongside some of the very best in the world - Nine Dots Gathering, Snap Photography Festival, Summit, Photographers Business (online) and Rock Your Shot as well as c0-hosting three hugely successful workshops in Italy and two in the UK, specifically for female wedding photographers - The Secret Retreat.

"I am back in Reading and I finally found a moment to THANK YOU for yesterday's mentoring session. I am happy with it beyond words! Not only you were extremely helpful and generous in sharing your experience, but you were also lots of fun to talk to and I LOVED how genuine you are. I probably have never felt so comfortable and not at all intimidated during a training/meeting with another photographer. I am really happy I trusted my gut and contacted you about the session."

“I’m a firm believer that when you work for yourself you need to stay true to how you shoot and how you portray yourself/your business. I also firmly believe that sometimes you need a kick up the backside as a reminder, you need a few words to point you in the right direction and to find that core belief again. Claire gave me that kick, firmly but fairly (and with humour) spoke those words to me and helped me find that belief again. I’m genuinely excited for the future of my business and need more hours in the day just to make a start on all my ideas! Claire, THANK YOU!”

No problem. In the meantime read what these photographers said about their mentoring sessions with me and see if it resonates?

”To me, a true mentor is someone who shares their own experiences and insights, but also has the capacity to understand your process and guide you on your own path. It is an art. Claire is a true artist in so many ways. I started shooting weddings in 2016. I found Claire through a Rangefinders 30 Rising Stars feature. I connected to her story and passion for shooting real and beautifully candid moments. I loved her sense of humour and lightheartedness that came through both in her words and images. We had a 2-hour FaceTime session before my first wedding and then had a follow up 2-hour session after my last wedding of the year. Claire shared some of her own triumphs and defeats with me, so honestly. It really helped me understand the flow of weddings from an experienced photographer. I went into my first wedding with much more confidence and grace because of it. She gave me meaningful and honest feedback on all of the galleries I sent her and on my website. She really helped shape my site into something that I feel proud to share. I felt comfortable asking questions and I still look back at my notes from our session when I feel stuck. She followed up right away with links and files she offered to share with me. It was a delight to go through this process with her. I recommend her to any photographer who is looking for an honest, funny and inspiring mentor."

“I'm a firm believer that when you work for yourself you need to stay true to yourself, how you shoot and how you portray both you and your business. However, I also firmly believe that sometimes you need a kick up the backside to remind yourself of this, you need a few words to point you back in the right direction and you need to find that core belief in yourself again to go full pelt at this photography lark. Claire gave me that kick, firmly but fairly (and with good humour) spoke those words to me and helped me find that belief again. I'm sitting here now re-reading my notes from the day, writing new website content and generally putting a whole heap of things into practice. I'm genuinely excited for the future of my business and I want more hours in the day just to make a start on all my ideas! Claire, thank you. THANK YOU!"
