Cat & Dan's mega stylish Preston Court wedding, Canterbury

Delighted to share some of my favourites today from Cat & Dan's incredible wedding.  I absolutely love Preston Court... such an incredibly beautiful and unique venue and to be blessed with the weather as well. Perfection. And the little church of St Mildred's next door is super pretty too - I can see why they wanted to get married there.

The bridesmaids' look (and dancing) was strong, as was Cat's dress... absolutely beautiful in its simplicity and the styling was just gorgeous.  Add to that the cute kiddos playing confetti with gravel, the sing-a-long & emotional speeches, the absolutely brilliant band (Coco and the Butterfields) and all the fun of the fair... it was an epic day.   Congratulations Cat & Dan and happy honeymoon!  xxx

A floral filled marquee wedding at home, Heswall & Parkgate - Sarah & Richard

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful wedding just up the road in Heswall... I met up with Sarah & Richard the week before for a G&T in our local and I just knew it was going to be a wonderful day... these two were so giddy with excitement.  Or giddy from the gin.  One of the two.

"Can we possibly nip to Parkgate, to the spot where we got engaged for a few photos after the ceremony?  We'll drive ourselves in a vintage two seater Morgan."  Um... YES.

From start to finish I've never seen a bride smile quite as much as Sarah did.  A highly infectious smile at that.  And the usual cool, calm and confident Richard was more than a little nervous before the ceremony but I'm guessing once he saw that smile it all melted away.

Here are a few of my personal favourites...

A beautiful outdoor wedding at Preston Court, Canterbury - Sophie & Ross

When Sophie first got in touch I was SO excited... she told me so much about her & Ross that I knew we would get along ("I thought he was a bit of player and he thought I was posh. We're neither of those things!") and then I heard their plans for the day at the beautiful Preston Court, a venue I had been dying to shoot at for a long time.

"We were recently discussing if we could make a Willy Wonka dessert table with a working chocolate river running through it... we'll see if that happens!"

Well folks, it did... complete with lickable wallpaper, Wonka bars (sadly all gone by the time I could even get close!) and of course, a golden ticket.  All made lovingly by these two talented humans.  It was simply amazing.  Another highlight was the 'ginger top trumps' on the tables including sections such as 'Level of gingerness' and 'Likeness to Ross'.  :)

From the beautiful and emotional outdoor ceremony to the Jewish dancing at the party... it was an incredible day (quick shout out to the uber talented Shutterbox Films who are always great company). Here are just a few of my favourites.

Waterfall Gardens wedding, Siggiewi, Malta - Jade & Reuben

Malta wedding photographer Jade Britain's Next Top Model winner.jpg

Quite often in this job I have to pinch myself.  Malta a couple of weeks ago was another one of those times.

Not only because it's a beautiful island and venue... but the fact that I got to shoot the wedding of these two gorgeous people. I met Jade & Reuben at Ruby & Ash's wedding.  I was REALLY trying not to fan-girl too hard but I used to watch Britain's Next Top Model and from the very beginning of cycle 7 I was rooting for Jade to win... and those of you who recognise those distinctive freckles will know that's exactly what she did.

I had just started shooting weddings then (2011) and I can remember thinking I'd bloody LOVE to shoot her wedding.  So thank you universe or fate or whatever it was that brought us together.   I owe you one.

The Waterfall Gardens at the Limestone Heritage Park are totally breathtaking... it's like something from a movie set.  (The less said about the journey there the better - I'm fully expecting a speeding ticket or two through the post and I'm amazed I got the hire car back without a scratch - Maltese drivers are mad bastards)

Jade's beautiful beaded Art Couture dress was perfection with the lace-edged veil, the bridesmaids all looked incredible in a mix of mint and baby blue gowns and Reuben and the boys just looked cool as all hell.

They said their vows in front of all their loved ones and a strangely water-less waterfall on their 10th anniversary (to the day!) and as they had their first kiss as husband & wife, the waterfall sprang into life.  Cue applause and excited gasps all around.  Not me obviously.  I was cool as a cucumber.  *clears throat* Obviously.

Anyway these are just a small handful of my favourites from the day.

A beautiful, laid back Masseria Montenapoleone wedding in Puglia, Italy (with first look!) - Claire & Will

I have been DYING to blog these previews but I headed straight off across Italy from this wedding to The Secret Retreat and had no time at all.

This was such an incredible wedding and it was in the most perfect setting... being back at Masseria Montenapoleone I felt pure joy with a tinge of sadness because the guys from the workshop last year weren't there. Apart from one. I was lucky enough to have my beautiful friend Lucy Woodrow Photography with me to help out.  Thank you. xxx

Claire & Will found me online and we'd only met briefly for a rather rushed coffee at Euston Station but when I saw them the day before the wedding it was honestly like catching up with friends. We chatted by the pool, beers in hand, and I met all of their loved ones who had travelled from all over the world to be there.

That's what made the wedding (and I'm sure the days that followed) extra special, having everyone there... even baby Ari - just 7 weeks old so many of the family hadn't even met her.  I will admit to getting a bit of a lump in my throat when Claire said 'this is probably the only time we will ALL be together".

And then Ari unleashed a 'punami'... and let's just say that Claire's beautiful mum won't be eating pesto in a hurry. :)

The wedding itself was perfection... the stunning Eliza Jane Howell dress, the room where Claire and her friends got ready - a cave FFS!, the first look (absolutely NO dry eyes) among the citrus trees, Claire & Will walking down the aisle together to be married by Claire's dad, Will's younger brother playing the piano as they made their way in (he practiced solidly for 6 months), the incredible brass band who walked everyone back up from the ceremony grotto, the wonderful food (always a highlight at Masseria Montenapoleone), Claire wanting so badly to get into the olive grove that she didn't even think twice about climbing the wall in her frock... and of course, Will's EPIC dancing.

A quick thank you to Giuliano and the team, especially Doriana, for looking after me & Lucy and keeping us hydrated!  We love you and will be back.

Claire & Will - what can I say... I'm sad it's over, I could have done it all over again the next day, even in that heat.  Thank you both for being so relaxed and trusting me implicitly, it was so much fun and I kinda missed you the next day!  I hope you love these previews.  Speak soon, much love xxx
