A beautiful Eymet wedding in the Dordogne region, South of France - Caroline & Conall

"C'e solo l'amore che mi da la forza di vivere! Allora vivi l'amore."  La Dolce Vita (1960) - Federico Fellini.

Why am I quoting an Italian film on this French wedding?  Well if you look closely at one of the shots you will see this quote.  That and the fact that it's really very lovely... "There is only love that gives me the strength to live! Then live love."

So I returned last night from my travels and I had the most wonderful time.  'Yes of course you did' I can hear you saying, '...it was France and it was beautiful and sunny and there's vineyards and fields of sunflowers and the bread/wine/cheese and and and....'.  And of course - for all those reasons I love France, adore the place,  but what made this trip special was Caroline & Conall and their nearest & dearest.  I fell completely head over heels in love with them all.

I don't think I have ever felt more welcome than I did as Mary (Caroline's mum) greeted me at the door on Friday with a huge smile and a big hug.  We headed off to the local Mairie in Agnac for their intimate legal ceremony which was done by the local Mayor who was the sort of man you wish was your Grandfather... kind eyes, lovely smile.

Once that was done it was all systems go for the wedding the following day which was to be a very personal ceremony in Eymet's beautiful Eglise de Notre Dame where they would be married again by a special priest, Caroline's Uncle who also married her parents and did her own christening.  That was followed by drinks at the very quaint Cafe de Paris and then back to Caroline's parents house, nestled among the cornfields, for the reception in a barn which they have spent the last year getting wedding-ready!

There were the two cutest page boys - the youngest was trying to look cross with me for taking his photo (I think) and inadvertently nailed 'blue steel'.  Amazing.

Anyway Caroline & Conall are eagerly awaiting these images on their mini-moon so I will shut the f**k up. :)

THANK YOU guys!  For choosing me to document these special days for you, for trusting me entirely and for just being such an absolute pleasure to be around.  Love to you both and all your family and friends.  xxx

Elegant Chateau la Durantie wedding, Dordogne, France - Jessica & Wayne

I've been in France just over a week now and I've shot three beautiful weddings already with one more to come before I head home to Mr P and Badger the dog.  :)  My first wedding in France was at Chateau la Durantie, a place I've wanted to shoot at for ages, and with a couple I had not met but who I already totally loved, thanks to their wonderful and unexpected gift (see video here).

Jessica & Wayne live in LA and were lucky enough to have all their friends and family travel over with them to celebrate (and give some very emotional speeches... *sniff*).

The ceremony was at the beautiful Church of St Thomas in nearby Excideuil and then everyone headed back to Durantie for food, dancing, fireworks and crepes.

It was such an amazing day... the weather behaved, everything was beyond beautiful, Mr & Mrs Rodriguez were (and are still!) hot, the music was incredible (especially when the band Brightlights played a certain song from Dirty Dancing and everyone started shouting 'LIFT LIFT LIFT' and they only went and did it... mostly).

It was a pleasure to work with Chris & Laura of Zen Film Works again and to have Nicola Thompson along to second shoot. What a team! Big love. I also have a new found love for tequila.

Jessica & Wayne - thank you for being so welcoming and so much fun.  Defiitely NOT douchebags Wayne.

Enjoy the rest of your French honeymoon & adventure!  Lots of love.  xxx

A fairytale French wedding at Chateau Soulac, Dordogne - Rebecca & David

So I returned yesterday from France and the wedding of Rebecca & David.  And what can I say?  It was just the most beautiful wedding, in the most perfect setting, with the most wonderful people.

I want to get these previews up for the happy couple before they head off back to Australia so I'll keep it short and let the images tell the story but suffice to say there was a lot of laughter, a few tears and an awful lot of love.

Bec & Dave... thank you for asking me to be a part of your incredible wedding,  It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with you both, your girls and your brilliant family & friends.  Safe travels home and speak soon. Lots of love. xx

Destination wedding - a fairytale chateau in the Dordogne, France - Natalie & Tom sneak previews

So I'm just back from an incredible week in France.  I took a few days holiday after a very busy summer (if I hadn't we would not have had a holiday all year, oops!) and took Mr P over for a few days to celebrate his birthday, then packed him off home and headed off to this beautiful fairytale chateau in the Dordogne... the setting for Natalie & Tom's wedding.   The foggy morning gave way to a beautiful October day and it couldn't have been more perfect. Natalie & Tom, here are your sneak previews!  Something you can enjoy now that reality has set in, and something to keep you going until your honeymoon.  : )  Thank you for letting me be a part of your incredible day! xxx
